All About Our Eccentric Gallery
Firenza Gallery proudly offers folk art and whimsical creations, plus contemporary gallery pieces by our many working artist friends. We hope you enjoy our sense of art, and humor, and the simple pleasures of shopping and conversation. You might learn a little history along the way. We strive to create a bright, airy, and colorful gallery space, while being mindful of the building’s place in Arroyo Seco’s history and culture. The former location of Martinez Grocery, the gallery enjoyed has successful years as a showplace for art and treasures. Tom and Jill took began Firenza in March 2009, taking over the space that was well-known as Fidgets.
Firenza Gallery has enjoyed a fun year so far. Our current offerings feature the lampwork bead art and jewelry by owner-artist Jill Shank, with creative details in silver and precious metal by her husband and co-owner, Tom Shank. Jill’s art has expanded into new themes and patterns, including her popular Taos Summer of Love tie-dye beads inspired by the spirit of the ‘60s, and her new mountain-scape centerpieces for jewelry.
Firenza original line also features our longtime favorites, ladybugs, sunflowers, peace frogs and bumblebees. Outside our gardens and front porch showcase new artwork and accessories that have been a steady hit. Sometime early in the spring, our flying pigs landed, including one on the roof! And, we added more folk art and color – and mischievous Garden Devas!
